However, people in China chose to pause for three minutes yesterday to mourn those killed during the Sichuan earthquake.
At 2.28pm businesses - from karaoke bars to the stock market - fell silent
Millions of people in China join the national mourning, China government launch three days - started from yesterday - as the national mourning days. It has already been a week since the earthquake happened, still many lives are not being rescued. Soldiers in China go to Sichuan voluntarily to rescue the people who are suffering from the earthquake.
Thousands of people lost all their families in this incident, orphans are all around the street. A woman,35, who was talking to her daughter just a few hours ago before the earthquake, lost her mother, father, husband, daughter.... 10 family members in total. She turned her sorrow into the motivation of rescuing people. Whenever there is a injured child sending to the hospital, she hugged that child for a long long time, trying to give her love and care,also trying to compensate her daughter the love that she can never tell to her daughter in person again.
Citizens of Sichuan showed their strength to resist the natural hazards.Countries over the world also give their hand to China, eg donations, transporting everything needed , sending doctors to Sichuan...etc.
Also, we care about the mental health of the survivors in Sichuan. An eight years old little girl was sitting on the floor, with blank in her eyes. An 68 years old man was refusing to go to toilet and eat after bring sent to the hospital. If we do nothing about what happen to these people , they might have nightmares in the rest of their lives.
Many people also compare the earthquake in Tangshan 1976 to the earthquake happening in Sichuan. They are also a massive earthquake and those who were the survivors og the Tangshan earthquake are still living today. 500 survivors devoted themselves to the Sichuan earthquake rescuing work because they don't the same thing happe again. They help with taking care of the orphans. They adopted them as their own sons or daughters.

news on this earthquake was broadcasted all over CCTV! and my mom was watching it 24/7! i couldn't stand all the pictures with burried children with limbs sticking out. it was unbearable!
